Generative Design for Revit

The idea of implementing some sort of generative design is far from new in Architecture. If you are a fan of Gaudi or Frey Otto, you may have already noticed that they were already using natural phenomena to inform the geometry of their buildings as a means of structural and material optimization way before computers where really a thing. More recently, with the arrive and advancement of computerized machines and robots generative design has been slowly becoming more and more known and explored, but it is still a faint dream and discouraged field for the vast majority of designers around the world. This reality may be fast to change in the near future and one of the big reasons is the arrive of the Generative Design Tool in Revit 2021.

BIM Coordination

BIM Coordination plays a huge role in improving collaboration and reducing construction cost. EvolveLAB Design Technologist Daniel Cortes and Construction Technologist Jake Spasaro explore the process and workflow of a BIM Coordinator from start to finish and identify some of the challenges from a general contractor’s point of view.

This session will teach you how these processes and workflows will reduce labor hours and material costs, resulting in increased profitability and job satisfaction.

Rhino.Inside + Galapagos

During this LabLive™, are very own Chris Woodward is going to show off the evolutionary problem solver Galapagos For Rhino, and how to port the geometry from Rhino over to Revit using the new Rhino.Inside WIP.  Galapagos is a single objective evolutionary problem solver. He uses Chicago's Millennium Park as the data set and he scores the view quotient and shadow quotient as a single objective.

Cashflow BIM

Real Estate Finance and Building Information Modeling typically aren't mentioned in the same sentence... which is why we hosted a lab-live on just that.

Even though BIM is great for optimizing geometry, we think it can be even more powerful when it is used to optimize Cashflow.   Because without cashflow, that BIM is never going to be more than a bunch of ideas on a computer screen.
