Faith Technologies, a leading electrical planning, engineering, design and installation expert, is the winner of a 2018 Contructech Vision Award. Faith received the Gold-level award in the category of Specialty Contractor: Electrical Work (more than $500 million). Each year, Constructech honors construction companies that realize the advantages of converging construction and technology, and successfully apply both to everyday business applications.
In the construction industry, one of the challenges is converting the virtual world of a building information model (BIM) into actionable improvements to the physical world of constructing a building. Faith Technologies used Autodesk Revit software as its BIM authoring tool, which is a database with a graphical entry interface, and Dynamo, a visual programming tool also developed by Autodesk, to automatically generate drawings. Faith’s Auto-Documentation tool allows modelers to select assemblies in the model and automatically create manufacturing drawings with a simple touch of a button. The development of this tool was enhanced by EvolveLAB, a Dynamo development consultant. To date this tool is on track to double the company’s BIM capacity.
“Faith Technologies takes great pride in staying ahead of the curve and leading innovation within our industry,” Tom Clark. Faith Technologies Executive Vice President of Preconstruction, said. “We are honored to be recognized once again by Constructechfor our advances in technology applications.”
This is the fourth time Faith Technologies has been recognized for its commitment to innovation. In 2015, the company received the Constructech Vision Award for its use of Trimble’s Robotic Total Scanner (RTS), in 2016 for its work with Trimble’s 3D scanner, and again in 2017 for its use of Energy Management System (EMS) with a Building Automation System (BAS).
